Each page is meticulously crafted from repurposed clothing. Baltimore based, I connect with my community by employing locally sourced secondhand textiles, Baltimorean quilting and sewing techniques, and embroidery by African American women in my work.

I juxtapose a non-elitist approach to Shakespeare's language with patchwork quilts and fragments from wedding dresses to create books that give a renewed vitality to the pedagogical approach to the Bard's works.

I have embraced practices that incorporate cultural heritage techniques into the technical, intellectual, and spiritual components of the construction.

Using fabrics that are personal to me, unique to a particular culture, and/or relatable to the reader, allows me to fuse the material form of the work to its meaning, adding complexity to the work.
